Durban, South Africa. VylexNexys today announced its transition to Vylex, a rebrand that was officially registered with the CIPC on 19 February 2026. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s evolution into a multidisciplinary technology group delivering digital systems, software products, and emerging technology solutions.
The rebrand reflects the company’s expanding footprint across enterprise platforms, SaaS tools, mobile applications, and cloud infrastructure services, while positioning the organisation for long-term international growth.
"Vylex represents who we are today and where we are headed. Our mission remains unchanged: to build dependable digital systems for businesses while creating accessible tools that empower communities and developers worldwide."
The name Vylex carries personal significance for Mthembu, derived from his first name Avuyile by removing the vowels A, U, and I while retaining only E, and adding the letter X to create a modern technical edge. The shift also signals a simplification of the brand as it prepares to scale across markets.
Operational Transition
As part of the transition, the company is migrating its digital presence to vylex.co.za, with vylex.com planned as its primary global domain. To ensure a seamless experience for existing clients and partners, the legacy domain, vylexnexys.co.za, will remain active and supported until the end of the year. All existing services, contracts, and customer relationships will remain entirely unchanged.
The unified brand positions Vylex to operate more clearly as a hybrid technology group, serving corporate clients through custom development and infrastructure solutions while simultaneously building its own ecosystem of public utility tools and software products.
